Mom
~~1955-1997~~
Mom,
I just want you to know,
I'm sorry I didn't say, "I love you."
I'm sorry for the times we didn't talk
I'm sorry for every time I made you angry.
I would call, or I would write;
but I don't think
it will make a difference either way.
You can't hear me, or see me today.
I think of you every moment.
I cry every day.
I dream every night.
I can't find my way.
You don't realize
how much you love
somebody in your life
until they are gone.
The day you disappeared from my life,
my hope was ripped away.
I found a road, but it's pretty bumpy;
I do things I shouldn't, but I hope you'd still love me.
You may not like the man I marry,
or the life I lead;
but, Mom,
that's what makes me, ME.
You're my mother;
we know that's true . . .
A mother is supposed to love,
unconditionally.
I hope you will accept me
for all I've done.
I hope you know,
I miss you.
There are times I sit,
and I beg for you
A Good Woman
A good woman is proud of herself.
She respects herself and others.
She is aware of who she is.
She neither seeks definition from the person she is with, nor does she expect them to read her mind.
She is quite capable of articulating her needs.
A good woman is hopeful.
She is strong enough to make all her dreams come true.
She knows love; therefore she gives love.
She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated.
If her love is taken for granted, it soon disappears.
A good woman has a dash of inspiration and a dabble of endurance.
She knows that she will, at times, have to inspire others to reach the potential God gave them.
A good woman knows her past, understands her present and moves on toward the future.
A good woman knows God. She knows that with God the world is her playground, but without God she will just be played with.
A good woman does not live in fear of the future because of her past.
