Question: I looooove your song your not alone. My question is how do you sing that song without crying. Everytime it comes on I cry. I really can't sing especially high but when I'm singing along especially the chorus I get a big lump in my throat. Thank you for that song you have an incredible gift from the Lord.
Answer: Your question touches my heart so much. Truth is, when I wrote You're Not Alone I was sobbing. It was incredible to know that the God of all creation was with me in my time of deepest need and would walk right into the room and sing His promises over me. And He still is, for everyone of us. The Lord somehow used this song in my own life before it was ever heard by anyone other than my family. Now when I sing it, I am always taken back to the piano in my parents' house and reminded of how the Lord revealed His faithfulness to me through this song, but now I sing it knowing that He wants to remind others that He has never left or abandoned or forgotten them either. You are NEVER alone. What a sweet promise for each of us.
