Tips For Expectant Mothers

It's hard to believe that I've come to the end of my pregnancy and have now met the little guy who's been bouncing around in my belly all these months! While I am no expert in the pregnancy department, I have discovered a few things that helped me through the last 39 weeks. Carrying a child is obviously different for everyone, so these tips are purely recommendations based on my experience (so take 'em or leave 'em!) and feel free to share your own helpful hints as well. Enjoy!

1. I've always known that my mom prayed for me from the first day she knew she was carrying me, and I attribute an early awareness of God to her fervent prayers. So when we found out I would have a baby of my own, my mom challenged me to pray very specific prayers for my little one every day while he was growing in my tummy. Micah 6:8 has become the verse most on my heart for my boy, and I keep praying that he would act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with his God. I encourage you to pray for your baby by name every day as well!

2. Read and sing to your baby early on, long before they enter the world. Even if you think you can't carry a tune in a bucket, your little one will recognize and love hearing your voice on a consistent basis.

I'll be posting a couple new tips every week on my website, so check back next Thursday for two more!
