To say that the weeks leading up to and following release day (March 2) were eventful would be a vast understatement. Looking back on my calendar, I have only the fondest memories of the last month or so, but for fear of those days becoming a blur, I will recount the highlights.
It all started with a tour in a mini van in which Bebo Norman and I along with 2 other brave souls visited various churches in the Midwest and Southeast. We had a great time conversing and playing music together, and we even stopped at 2 Harvest church plants along the way. (Harvest is my church!) I was able to come off the road for a couple days during the last week of February and join about 20 other songwriters from Harvest Bible Chapels for a writers' retreat in Michigan. What a creative, refreshing time it was. Next stop was Nashville and entailed album prep, video content, a handful of interviews and the National Religious Broadcasting Convention. I was completely honored to share the platform with Kay Arthur during a women's luncheon at NRB. She is one of my heroes because of the way she speaks God's Word with such clarity, boldness, and passion.
"Street Week" consisted of leading worship for the Youth Pastors' Summit at Universal Studios in Orlando, partnering with WPOZ and New Missions for a Haiti benefit concert, visiting KLTY in Dallas with a listener event that evening, interviewing with Kelli from KLOVE and singing for their staff in Sacramento, and wrapping it up with my first Acquire the Fire event in Boise, ID. Whew.
Things haven't exactly slowed down in the last couple weeks, nor are they going to any time soon, but I am beyond thankful for the opportunities the Lord has afforded me in this season. I have to pinch myself when I think that God has opened doors for me to share His Word and my heart through music on a regular basis. And I am so very thankful for you, the listener, for your prayers and support. May God be ever nearer to you as you continue to draw nigh unto Him.
thanks!
I recently joined Harvest Bible Chapel, and when I went there this morning, the song on my heart was "Can Anybody Here Me." I was so excited to hear you sing the song, and I was impressed at how well you sang it. I was even mored suprised at how you sang it exactly like the girl on radio, until I listened to K-Love later today. They played the song, announcing that it was sung by Meredith, who attends Harvest Bible Chapel. I laughed the whole ride home.
Father/Daughter Dance
I want to thank you for coming to the Father/Daughter dance amidst the busy March schedule. Your heart for the Lord is evident-my family was blessed to have you there(along with many others:)).
