Blog - A New Hallelujah Tour

Being part of A New Hallelujah Tour with Michael W Smith, Matt Maher, and Phil Stacey has far exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I received word that I would indeed be on the tour and began preparing for this adventure to the initial rehearsal and first concert, I have felt much like a giddy little school girl complete with butterflies and wide-eyed wonderment. I understood the honor I had been given, but now that we are on the home stretch of our journey together, I can look back and honestly say I have been humbled by the realization of what I get to do, perhaps more so than ever. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for the chance to point people straight to Jesus with the music He has brought to life in my heart, learn from those older and wiser in life and ministry, walk alongside people with the same passion for Spirit and Truth worship, and ultimately glorify the God who has entrusted me with this opportunity. Sometimes I still shake my head in disbelief. How I long to be faithful in every season, honoring my Savior in every aspect of my life whether it be on a stage in front of thousands, in an orphanage in Haiti, amidst my church body, or behind closed doors.

The "Smitty Tour" as we know it will forever be etched in my memory as one of those unforgettable life experiences. (After all, I grew up listening to Michael's music...who didn't? I still get Place In This World stuck in my head every time he walks in the room.) Truly, words fail to describe how thankful I am for the opportunity to be a part of a tour in which relationship and worship, community and personal growth, humility and authenticity, servant leadership and loving truth all collide in living out the reality of the Gospel and spurring each other on to love and good deeds. A New Hallelujah Tour has become so much more than getting on a bus and playing a handful of dates in a bunch of different cities. It has become a beautiful picture of God using a group of broken people in the lives of each other and the lives of those that dare to come hang out with us for a night of honest worship. Matt Maher said it right in the second verse of "Your Grace Is Enough", our opening song each evening: "Great is your love and justice, God; you use the weak to lead the strong. You lead us in the song of your salvation and all your people sing along." That's A New Hallelujah Tour in a nutshell right there.

Dear Meredith,
I want you to know what a blessing it was for me to hear your music. You truly have the voice of an angel and God is truly using the gift he gave you to bring others close to him. I will keep you in my daily prayers. God bless you.
